In 1998, Chief Goralski was assigned to the Michigan State Police Western Wayne Narcotics Concept Team. As a police officer, Chief Goralski was assigned as a uniformed patrol officer, as a plains clothes surveillance officer in the Special Operations Unit, and as an undercover narcotics officer in the Intelligence Bureau. Over his career, Chief Goralski has been assigned to several positions within the various Divisions of the Police Department. Chief Goralski began his career with the Livonia Police Department in 1989. Chief Goralski was appointed as Chief of Police by Mayor Maureen Miller Brosnan on December 17, 2021.
